Meet Our Pastor, Amy Andrews!
Amy is FULL OF LIFE, exudes compassion, and can stuff a burrito like a champ (thanks to a summer job at Taco Bell back in the day). Born and raised on the outskirts of Reidsville, NC, she’s an outdoorsy kind of gal that loves camping, hiking, and sitting around a good ol’ fire pit. She’s also pretty good with power tools, can make something out of nothing, and can create the most beautiful school bulletin board you ever did see!
She’s an NC State grad who got married in the summer of ‘99 to a pretty great guy, Craig Andrews, who you’ll see around Cedarbridge strumming on the guitar, helping with the sound, and making everyone laugh. Together they have two daughters, Abby & Ava, one black lab, Millie (who thinks she’s a human), and a great podcast called Finding Free.
In her down time, Amy likes to create beautiful things, read (she enjoys memoirs, historical fiction, theology, & mysteries), and travel (she’s been to 12 countries and 39 states so far). She “love love loves” coffee, but wine is a close second. Aside from coffee and wine, she loves tacos, all things charcuterie, and “chippy dippy stuff” (her words, not ours.) If you want to meet with her to chat over a coffee or Mexican food, that’ll be perfect, and not just because she love, love, loves coffee, but she also loves connecting with people and hearing their stories.
A few fun facts: Amy lived in a monastery while studying abroad at Oxford University at St. Benet’s Hall, she’s run 2 marathons, and has had a PLETHORA of odd jobs since high school ranging from putting up tobacco to lifeguarding, teaching preschool to being a CNA. Add to that nearly two decades as a full-time youth pastor and she’s earned herself an honorary PhD in flexibility, creativity, mood management, and fun!
Amy really has a way with words, and she constantly reminds us of our belovedness, the image of God within us, and ways we can be the hands and feet of Christ. We are lucky to have her as the first lead pastor at Cedarbridge!
Amy received her Masters of Divinity with Languages from Campbell University Divinity School and currently serves on the Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina Leadership Board, Pitt County Schools Behavioral Health Alliance, and the CBFNC Collegiate Ministry Team.
